Luckily, I was not the only nervous intern. I was able to work with a darling woman, Christina, and learn the ins and outs of the magazine. I am extremely thankful for, although I was nervous at the time, that the staff trusted my professional opinion and talents enough to allow me to immediately begin working writing and designing things for the upcoming issue.
I remember being so in love the moment I walked into their office. The décor, the prop room for photo shoots (my favorite room…stay tuned for photos to show why) and countless shelves holding hundreds of wedding magazines. The endless supply of wedding magazines kept me more than entertained all summer reading each unique love story to better my writing techniques.
However, I will admit that not every day was glamorous. Christina and I spent many hours loading and unloading boxes of magazines (50 pound boxes make for quite the arm workout), wrapping and mailing magazines to vendors and featured brides. If we learned one thing all summer it was that we have no future in the packing industry.
Thank you kindly for reading!
